Work on import-substituted aircraft is in its final stages, and it will undoubtedly be completed. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government, Denis Manturov.
According to him, Russia is now engaged in a task that "no country in the world" has had to solve before.
A task of such complexity and scope has never been set or solved in any country in the world before, and today we can say with confidence that we will definitely bring what we have started to an end.
Manturov added that the factories are building up a reserve for increasing the production rate of these aircraft after certification is completed.
As a reminder, the Tu-214 in Russia is now fully import-substituted. The Sukhoi Superjet-100, Il-114-300, and MC-21-310 are in the final stages of modernization. Manturov did not announce any specific dates.
Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev warned that airlines will not be able to purchase aircraft with their own funds.
