"They flew and crossed themselves": Deputy admitted that the Russian aircraft industry was "screwed up"

Andrey Gurulev: the Russian Federation has a reserve for mass production of aircraft

At a certain stage of development, Russia "screwed up the aviation industry", which made people "fly and cross themselves". However, now the situation has gradually begun to improve, said deputy Andrey Gurulev.

According to him, the industry has lost a lot of competencies. The parliamentarian regretted that the word "sabotage", which can be applied to the aviation of the post-perestroika times, is not criminally punishable.

And now the first aircraft to take to the line will be the Tu-214. A reliable, sensible machine with a crazy potential for modernization. And it will go. I think the Kazan plant will rise and go.
Andrey Gurulev, State Duma deputy

Gurulev stressed that the country has a reserve for mass production of aircraft. New machines are needed like air because of the obsolescence of equipment, which, as the deputy aptly put it, is older than him.

Earlier, economist Dmitry Tortev stated that the key "brake" for the Russian aircraft industry was not the lack of technology, but a complex certification system. Another problem the specialist called the shortage of trained personnel for the production of several types of aircraft at once.
