Fuel Made from Used Frying Oil Tested on a Jet Engine at Gazprom Neft

The next step will be the introduction of SAF fuel for aviation

Gazprom Neft conducted Russia's first tests of environmentally friendly aviation fuel (SAF fuel) on a jet engine. The new product is made from processed vegetable oil, including used frying oil. This was reported by the company's press service.

The testing program, which simulated takeoff, cruise flight, and landing approach modes, confirmed the efficient operation of the equipment and a reduction in environmental impact. The results of the testing will be used to develop a unified national standard for synthetic SAF components for aviation fuels.
