After undergoing scheduled dry-docking and inspection by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, the cargo-passenger vessel "Admiral Nevelskoy" returned to operation on the Korsakov — Kuril Islands route. The work, completed in November 2025, included a comprehensive inspection of the ship's systems and hull repair operations.
The vessel was built in 2020 at the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK), and is considered the lead ship in the PV22 project series. The ferry's architectural concept was developed on the basis of the MPSV07 Arctic rescue vessel project, which provides it with enhanced ice-going capability and improved maneuverability — qualities especially important for operation in the conditions of the Russian Far East.
On board the "Admiral Nevelskoy," accommodation is provided for up to 146 passengers in 38 cabins, including three specialized cabins for mothers with children and one adapted for passengers with reduced mobility. The vessel also has a medical unit and a restaurant for 74 people. In addition to passengers, the ferry is capable of carrying general cargo, containers (including refrigerated ones), and passenger cars, making it a versatile transport link in the logistics chain of the Kuril Islands.
