Russia has shaken the US monopoly in key avionics

In Russia, onboard ACAS, avionics suite, and TAWS systems were developed for the first time

Russian industry has challenged the global leadership of the United States in the production of key avionics for aircraft. This was reported by the publication "Reporter".

Domestic specialists have developed the first import-substituting airborne collision avoidance systems (ACAS), an integrated onboard radio-electronic equipment suite (avionics), and a terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS).

Before that, the production of the mentioned warning systems for aircraft had been in the hands of the American company Collins Aerospace (part of RTX Corporation).

All countries on the planet depended on supplies of this company\'s systems, and Russia was no exception. The Americans made great efforts, spending several decades and a lot of money to create the most crucial avionics unit.

The aforementioned avionics will be installed not only on the new Tu-214 produced by the Kazan Aviation Plant, but also on other aircraft models.
