Soviet An-26-100 to be put back in service in Khabarovsk in anticipation of new Il-114-300s

In the Khabarovsk Territory, the An-26-100 of Soviet production will be returned to service, the regional Ministry of Transport reported. The aircraft is literally being dismantled into parts so that after all checks and routine maintenance it will take to the sky only in good and safe condition.

Aviation technicians check and service the airframe, landing gear, control systems, engines and propellers, fuel and hydraulic system, electronic and navigation equipment.

After such a "general check", the An-26-100 is assembled, the engines are started, a series of ground tests and test flights are carried out to make sure that all systems and units of the aircraft are working correctly. Only after that the aircraft will be allowed to fly with passengers on board.

The An-26-100 is expected to be on the routes as early as February, and it will start transporting passengers and important cargo to the northern regions of the region.

As a reminder, import-substituted Il-114-300s are being built in Russia to replace the An-26 series. They will begin to be transferred to regional carriers in 2026.
