Another New TBC-2MS Aircraft Takes Wing in Russia: Replacement of 70-Year-Old An-2s Begins

The aircraft has joined the fleet of the "Baikal Aviation Company"

The fleet of the "Baikal Aviation Company" has been replenished with another replacement for the Soviet An-2 — the TBC-2MS aircraft. It will be used to perform sanitary missions from Ulan-Ude.

"Baikalaviacom" already has two years of flight and technical operation experience with the TBC-2MS. Expanding the fleet with these aircraft will allow local aviators to make more flights, and more quickly and efficiently solve socially significant tasks in the region to ensure transport accessibility.

"Komiaviatrans" is also considering the possibility of chartering the TBC-2MS for flights within the republic. The modernized aircraft is equipped with a higher-powered imported engine, is economical, and is suitable for operation at small airfields.

The aircraft is equipped with a Honeywell TFE331-12 turboprop engine with a power of 1100 hp. The cruising speed is 200 km/h, the maximum is up to 250 km/h.

The maximum take-off weight of the TBC-2MS reaches 5500 kg, the payload is up to 1500 kg, and the cabin capacity is up to 12 people. One of the most important technical advantages of the machine is a short take-off run of up to 50 m and a landing run of 80 m.
