The "REO" company has developed and manufactured a lubrication control system for the main thrust bearings of the shaft line of the "Leader" icebreaker of project 10510, which was named "Russia". The "MUSS-1032" system is responsible for supplying oil and controlling the modes and parameters of the lubrication system.
"MUSS-1032" is preparing for joint tests with the ship's hydraulic system. The lead nuclear icebreaker "Russia" will be the most powerful icebreaker in the world. Its length will be 209.2 meters with a maximum width of 48 meters and a total displacement of more than 71 thousand tons. A power of 120 MW on the propellers will provide a speed of 12 knots (22.2 km/h) in ice.
Icebreakers of project 10510 are equipped with two Ritm-400 reactor units with a capacity of 315 MW. They will be able to overcome ice thickness of at least 4 meters with constant movement at a minimum speed. The main task of the "Leader" class icebreakers will be to ensure year-round navigation along the Northern Sea Route and conduct expeditions to the Arctic.
The "Leader" icebreaker of project 10510 is planned to be completed by 2030.
