Ростех впервые испытал режим реверса двигателей ПД-8 на самолёте SJ-100

Engineers studied the operation of the unit in various wing mechanization configurations

Specialists from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec Group) continue to work on the new import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft. During the next tests, they checked the reverse mode of the PD-8 engines for the first time.

Engineers studied the operation of the thrust reverser in various wing mechanization configurations. The tests confirmed the effectiveness of the engine reverse system, UAC emphasized.

The reverse mode is a technology for directing thrust in the direction opposite to the movement of the aircraft for braking. All modern aircraft use this mode to reduce speed and stop on the runway.

At the same time, the manufacturer of the PD-8, ODK-Perm Motors, faced problems due to arrears in the contract for the overhaul of equipment. A bankruptcy petition has been filed with the court.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Rostec commission with Serdyukov and UAC visited the production of the PD-8 engine.
