According to Rosstat, among the leading economies, Russia has entered the top three countries with the most affordable internet, RIA Novosti reported.
According to statistical data from various countries, the cheapest internet is in India, costing $7.7 per month. Converted to rubles, internet access costs the average Indian resident approximately 613 rubles.
Russia is in second place: the monthly subscription fee for internet access costs 693 rubles, or $8.7.
Romanians pay slightly more for internet services, spending about $9.8 monthly.
The leaders in terms of the cost of accessing the network are the USA — $72.1, Canada — $61.7, and Luxembourg — $59.1.
Internet is also expensive for residents of the green continent and Europeans: Belgium ($56.9), Ireland ($55.1), Australia (53.6$), Germany ($50.7), Netherlands ($50.6), Portugal ($43). The most expensive internet in African countries is in South Africa ($42.3).
