Specialists from "Kriteriy" LLC have replaced the Japanese technology for manufacturing parts for two-stroke engines for drones, including those of the airplane type, with domestic technology. This was reported by the company's press service.
The request to master this technology came from the company "Unioprom". The innovative enterprise carries out research and development work (R&D) on the development of various types of drones. Its specialists needed to manufacture 5 parts of a two-stroke aircraft engine to replace Japanese elements.
The difficulty lay not only in small-scale production, but also in the fact that there was no technology in Russia for manufacturing such elements. The search for a contractor took almost 9 months.
As a result, the company "Kriteriy" took on this task, solving it in just 2 months. The contractors also agreed with the customer on design changes to adapt to Russian production capabilities.
The first batch of parts for UAV engines was sent in May 2025. After assembly, the power units were tested. The tests were successful, and the engines withstood significant aviation loads.
In September, "Kriteriy" shipped a new batch of components. The company added that they are ready to increase the production of parts.
