The Pella Leningrad Shipyard has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Sea Tech design bureau for the construction of an HSC120 passenger catamaran for 120 seats. The companies announced this at the NEVA-2025 international exhibition.
HSC120 is a lighter and cheaper version of the HSC150B catamaran. The vessel is a planing catamaran with dynamic unloading by underwater wings. Unlike classic hydrofoils, the hull is unloaded during movement, rather than rising on the wing, which increases energy efficiency, speed and reduces fuel consumption.
The catamaran, 30.5 m long, up to 10.2 m wide and with a draft of 1.5 m, is equipped with 2×1000 kW engines with water jet propulsion. On board there are cabins for the crew, a mess room, soft seats for 120 seats in the "Economy" version and more comfortable seats for 100 seats in the "Comfort" version. The vessel is fully equipped for the transportation of passengers with reduced mobility and provides the possibility of disembarking on an undeveloped shore. Catering is organized according to a mixed scheme - vending machines and a bar.
Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2026, with operation in inland waters, as well as in the Baltic and Black Seas. The use of domestic equipment and the possibility of installing various power plants in the winged and wingless versions are provided.
