The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has put into operation one of the largest 3D printers in Russia. The machines allow the company to create large-sized parts from composites.
Two large-format 3D printers have expanded the possibilities for manufacturing tooling for the production of parts from polymer composite materials.
The manufacturing time for forming tooling for vacuum forming products from polymer composite materials has been reduced from 10-12 weeks to 2-3 weeks. The 3D printers can print products used in aircraft manufacturing with dimensions up to 5 m in length, 1.8 m in width and 1.5 m in height.
The printers are capable of creating large-sized polymer parts, reducing the time costs of the production cycle and the personnel involved compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the construction of 7 new aircraft, 3 helicopters and 6 aircraft engines is being completed in Russia.
