Kamikaze drones "Molniya-2" equipped with fiber optic cable have appeared in the Russian troops. Thanks to this solution, the device is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 40 km, while remaining invulnerable to electronic warfare equipment and transmitting a clear image.
The fiber optic cable, unwound by the drone during the flight, allows the operator to receive high-quality video images from the drone's camera in real time, even at long distances. This ensures high aiming accuracy and the ability to identify targets, which is especially important when working in complex urban environments or in areas with a high probability of civilian presence. In addition, this type of communication allows the operator to make adjustments to the drone's flight path in real time, increasing the likelihood of a successful target engagement.
"Molniya" can carry loads weighing up to 10 kg to the enemy. Their main combat load includes TM-62 mines and KZ-7 shaped charges. There are also modifications of "Molniya-2" equipped with a thermobaric warhead from the RPO-A "Shmel", and used as carriers of FPV drones.
