Roscosmos announced that on September 9, the Progress MS-30 cargo ship will leave the Russian module of the International Space Station, preparing the site for the arrival of the next cargo ship.
Progress MS-30 arrived at the ISS on March 3. It delivered almost 2.6 tons of cargo to the ISS: equipment, clothing, food, as well as the Orlan-MKS No. 6 spacesuit, designed for working in outer space.
Having completed its mission, the ship will begin an independent flight, during which it will enter the atmosphere of our planet. Most of the structure will be destroyed by high temperatures when passing through the dense layers of the atmosphere. The remaining components that have not been burned will fall into a safe, remote area of the Pacific Ocean, where they will be flooded.
The Progress MS-32 cargo ship will dock at the Progress MS-30's place. The Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the cargo ship has already been installed at launch pad No. 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The launch is scheduled for September 11, and docking with the ISS is scheduled for September 13.
Progress MS is a Russian spacecraft designed to service orbital stations. It is designed to deliver various cargoes to the ISS, such as fuel, scientific equipment, oxygen, water, food and other necessary materials. In addition, Progress MS is used to adjust the station's orbit.
