The Kazan Aviation Plant (KAP) has started assembling the second Tu-214 aircraft, according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, the company has started manufacturing the second aircraft as part of the 2025 program.
At the same time, the ongoing investment program will allow starting deliveries of Tu-214 to commercial air carriers from 2027 to meet their needs for new aircraft, the minister noted.
KAP started assembling the Tu-214 in mid-2022, when the project to resume aircraft production was launched. The first machine assembled under this project made its first flight in December 2024, and the first serial deliveries to commercial airlines are expected from 2026.
Aviation expert Alexey Zakharov warned that if KAP continues to produce the Tu-214 in single units, then the cost of each aircraft will be prohibitively high.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Su-27 fighter drove an American F-15 away from a Tu-22M3 bomber, a video appeared.
