Before transporting passengers, the new light aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" will be tested on aviation works, said the head of Rosaviatsiya Dmitry Yadrov.
According to him, the aircraft is planned to be used for forestry aviation, transport and communication and aviation chemical works, aerial photography.
Yadrov added that in the first years of operation, the "Baikal" will have certain restrictions, including for flights over populated areas, due to the fact that the engine does not currently have sufficient resources.
I am sure that the experience that will be gained in aviation chemical and aviation works will avoid childhood diseases in commercial operation, passenger transportation.
The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA), the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) and the airlines of the "Aerokhimflot" aviation alliance have concluded a tripartite contract for the supply of 50 LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled from 2027 to 2031.
