Sberbank was instructed to analyze the state of affairs in the Russian aviation industry and, together with the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), present a new management and financing model, the BUSINESS Online publication reports.
According to the source, this decision was made based on the results of a strategic session on the development of the aviation industry under the leadership of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Sources of the publication noted that Sber's involvement is not related to detachment from the aviation industry, but to a project approach. The financial organization has a strong team, and what to evaluate is not fundamental. Business, in this case the aviation industry, is assessed according to a number of criteria, including the capacity of management.
Roman Gusarov, editor-in-chief of the industry portal Avia.ru, negatively perceived the information about Sber's involvement in the audit of the aviation industry. In his opinion, a conflict of interest is possible in this situation.
Bankers are not interested in financing the aviation industry: this is very long money, and the result is not obvious. Loans and mortgages are much more profitable - money that is quickly returned and with very high interest rates. I am afraid that the result of the audit will be this: let's cut everything - this is not necessary, that will slow down development.
BUSINESS Online sent requests to the Russian government, UAC, Rostec, but did not receive a response. Sber did not deny the fact of the audit, only stating that they would refrain from commenting.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec is ready to start deliveries of MC-21, SJ-100 and Il-114-300 abroad.
