The Il-96-300 is used by the "Russia" special flight detachment for government transportation

American F-22 fighters "drew" a star in the sky over Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska after the arrival of Russian aircraft - a wide-body Il-96-300PU and a Kazan Tu-214 on Friday, August 15.

The Il-96 is a long-range aircraft. The Il-96-300 modification is used by the "Russia" special flight detachment for the most important government transportation.

The presidential Il-96 is easily recognizable by its characteristic fairings on the "hump" of the fuselage with satellite communication antennas and a special government livery with the coat of arms of the Russian Federation. And additional fuel tanks have been added to increase the flight range.
