UEC to Supply Five New GTA-25 Power Units for Russia's Northern Regions

The power plants will be manufactured at UEC-Gas Turbines

United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) will supply five GTA-25 gas turbine power units for fuel and energy complex (FEC) facilities in Russia's northern regions in 2026. The total capacity of the equipment will be 112.5 MW.

The units will be manufactured at UEC-Gas Turbines (part of UEC Engineering), which will be responsible for manufacturing components, assembling, and preparing the units for installation. The company itself will carry out supervision and installation.

The 22.5 MW GTA-25 units are based on the Russian PS-90GP-25 engine manufactured by UEC-Perm Engines. Four such units are already operating at the Saki TPP in Crimea. The new power plants are intended for the construction of a power complex that will help eliminate the power shortage. GTA-25 units are block-modular solutions: their components are manufactured at the factory, then delivered to the site and assembled on site. This reduces the construction time of power plants.

UEC Engineering specializes in the supply of gas turbine power plants (with a capacity of 2.5 to 118 MW) and their maintenance. The company is part of JSC UEC.

The new units will help provide stable electricity and heat in the northern regions, where harsh climatic conditions make energy supply particularly important. The use of Russian GTA-25 gas turbine engines with a block-modular design will allow them to be put into operation more quickly, which may affect the stability of the communal infrastructure.
