The US aviation authorities will close the sky over the city of Anchorage in Alaska, where a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump is scheduled for August 15, according to a notice from the country's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
According to the posted "Notice of VIP Movement in Anchorage", the American authorities will close the sky at an altitude of up to 5.5 thousand meters and within a radius of 48.3 km. It is indicated that the restriction will last one day — on Friday.
Vladimir Kanashevsky, Head of the Department of International Private Law at Moscow State Law University, explained that the flight of the aircraft with President Vladimir Putin over Alaska will be additionally coordinated with the US authorities. For security reasons, the plane is expected to fly from Chukotka through the Bering Strait.
