Pickers Strained: Robots Now Assemble Orders in One of Moscow's Darkstores

Russian Company Implemented Automation, Which Accelerated Order Assembly by 30%

Yandex Robotics has automated the order assembly process in one of the Moscow darkstores of the Yandex Lavka network using mobile robots (AMR) controlled by the Yandex RMS system. This is the first such project in Russian retail logistics.

In a dedicated warehouse area occupying 28% of its space, 12 autonomous robots and 84 mobile racks operate. The robots deliver racks with goods to employees, reducing their movement around the warehouse. According to the company, this accelerated order assembly by 30% and reduced the physical load on personnel.

The "Robot Zone" serves about 40% of the darkstore's assortment, including non-food items and products with a long shelf life. Perishable and frozen goods are still assembled manually.
