The authorities of Kamchatka denied the information spread in messengers and social networks about the alleged damage to a submarine as a result of an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.7 on July 30, the Regional Management Center (TsUR) reported.
The TsUR drew attention to the fact that data appeared on the Web that a nuclear submarine was damaged during the cataclysm, and radioactive water from a nuclear reactor allegedly poured into Avacha Bay.
The Pacific Fleet and the government of the Kamchatka Territory have denied this information.
The TsURP added that in the allegedly official document being distributed, colloquial words in business correspondence, spelling errors and non-business design indicate the unreliability of the information.
Kamchatka is home to the Vilyuchinsk submarine missile carrier base. The Ministry of Defense facility is located in the city of Vilyuchinsk of the same name on the shore of Avacha Bay, 25 km southwest of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Earlier www1.ru reported that India wants to speed up deliveries of the S-400 Triumph air defense system from Russia.
