Currently, 23 SJ-100 "Superjet" regional aircraft are at various stages of production, according to Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.
According to him, the Russian aviation industry is preparing a reserve for the serial production of these aircraft, while the certification of a fully import-substituted version is nearing completion. Everything is being done to ensure that airlines begin receiving the aircraft in 2026.
This is a unique case in global practice. No foreign manufacturer, no country has done anything like this, especially in such a timeframe. For example, Boeing's production involves global suppliers from 9 countries.
Yevtushenko separately emphasized the complexity of the task of import substitution for the SJ-100. To accomplish this task, it was necessary to develop and refine about 40 systems and components, including the engine.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Major General of Aviation called the plans to build 100 MC-21 aircraft by 2030 unrealistic
