Fuselage assembly and production of airframe parts will take place at a plant in Nizhny Novgorod, with final assembly in Yekaterinburg.

Currently, the assembly of the third flight prototype of the light aircraft is ongoing in Nizhny Novgorod. In June, the fuselage of the third flight prototype of the Baikal was joined at the Nizhny Novgorod site.

The project to create the LMS-901 Baikal light multi-purpose aircraft has been implemented at UZGA since 2019 to replace the outdated An-2.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the import-substituted MS-21 aircraft successfully tested radio-electronic equipment.
