The production of composite parts for the MC-21 now takes place only in one location. This was announced by the First Deputy Director of PJSC "Yakovlev", Head of the Engineering Center, Anatoly Gaidansky.
Previously, parts were made in one place, and final assembly took place in another, but now all production of composite parts for the MC-21 is concentrated at the plant in Kazan.
Gaidansky also mentioned that two prototypes of a large caisson were created. One of them passed a static load strength test, being brought to destruction at the design load. The second prototype is currently being tested on a special stand.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the PD-8 aircraft engine for the SJ-100 turned out to be more economical than foreign competitors in cruise mode.
