The designers of "UEC-Klimov" (part of the United Engine Corporation, UEC) in creating the domestic VK-650V engine used a design that combines advanced developments and proven solutions. The UEC press service showed detailed shots of the power plant device.
The calculations of the flow path elements were performed using 3D optimization methods, and modern materials are used for the manufacture of engine parts and assemblies.
The aircraft engine is a new Russian solution for light helicopters, it will equip the Mi-34M1, Ansat and Ka-226.
VK-650V is a completely domestic engine for helicopters with a take-off weight of up to 4 tons. The unit has a power of 650 hp in take-off mode and a digital two-channel automatic control system of the FADEC type, UEC noted.
