The installation of Russian-made interiors on an MC-21 prototype aircraft has taken place at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. This was reported by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
The aircraft has been equipped with ceiling and window panels, luggage racks, toilet and kitchen modules, wardrobes, curtains, partitions, door trim and cladding, as well as business class seats. The interior elements of the passenger aircraft were manufactured by the "Aviation Interiors" company as part of a major import substitution project.
Experts noted the quality of the new interior. Some components turned out even better than their foreign counterparts, previously manufactured and tested on this prototype aircraft.
In the future, it is planned to completely replace the luggage compartment panels and floor panels with domestic ones. They are planned to be produced in Ulyanovsk.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft have completed half of the certification program.
