Cэкономят 600 миллиардов рублей: РЖД запустит дополнительные грузовые поезда благодаря ВСМ

Проект ВСМ увеличит экспортный грузопоток в направлении морских портов

Thanks to the project of Russia's first high-speed railway line Moscow - St. Petersburg, Russian Railways (RZD) will be able to save 600 billion rubles on infrastructure investments. This was announced by the head of RZD, Oleg Belozerov.

When building the HSR, we free up our existing infrastructure, we can launch additional freight trains there. This is an additional 30 million tons and, in fact, it is a saving of at least 600 billion rubles of investment in additional infrastructure.
Oleg Belozerov, head of RZD

Such savings will avoid increasing the tariff burden in the amount in which it "should have been increased" if Russian Railways were building freight routes. The project will increase export cargo flow towards the seaports of the North-West from more than 30 regions of the country, including cargo-generating regions such as Samara, Belgorod, Sverdlovsk and Lipetsk.

The first branch of the high-speed railway will connect St. Petersburg and Moscow. It will be intended for passenger traffic and will pass through the territory of six Russian regions — Moscow, St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Novgorod, Tver and Moscow regions. Trains will run at 15-minute intervals. By 2030, passenger traffic between St. Petersburg and Moscow will be about 23 million people per year.

The design and construction of the HSR-1 Moscow-St. Petersburg line is scheduled for 2024-2028. Commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the design of the Russian high-speed train is approaching.
