Drone Component Production to be Established at YSTU

The project aims to replace imported drone engines

Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU) has been included in the federal register of specialized contractors under the program "Components for Unmanned Aircraft Systems." This was announced by the rector of the university, Elena Stepanova.

YSTU is the only organization in the Yaroslavl region that is included in the register of contractors under the UAS program of the ANO  "Agency for Technological Development." This became possible, in part, thanks to the license we received last year from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to develop aviation technology. Today, we continue to expand our portfolio of projects in various industries: this list includes flagships of the engine building market, the chemical industry, agriculture, the confectionery industry, and others.
Elena Stepanova, Rector of  YSTU

YSTU has created an Engineering Development Center, which is engaged in the development of design documentation packages for critical components. The university also has a unique design bureau specializing in aviation piston engines.

Specialists at the center are working on the design and import substitution of engines, power plants, and their parts, which is an important step for the development of the domestic aviation industry and increasing independence in this area.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that large-scale production of key components for UAVs was launched in Russia.
