The production facilities of the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ), if it leaves the Tupolev company (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec, UAC), may join the MC-21 project to increase the production of the promising Russian medium-range flagship.
It is assumed that new production facilities can be used in the production of a number of components and assemblies for the MC-21.
Moreover, some experts, in the absence of contracts for the Tu-214, even propose organizing an MC-21 assembly line at the KAZ facilities, while the Tupolev Design Bureau will calmly begin work on a deep modernization of the Tu-214 and adaptation of the MC-21 cabin to it.
The media reported that Tupolev and KAZ are on the verge of separation due to a complete restructuring in the UAC.
The Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov is the largest manufacturer of aircraft, including Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 missile carriers. This plant is known for the production of various types of aviation equipment.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the manufacturer of advanced missiles for Su-57 fighters will expand production.
