Не хотите зайти в айти? Аферисты прикидываются представителями IT-компаний и зовут россиян на закрытое тестирование

The victim is convinced that they have been included in the list of selected users and promised bonuses, money and valuable prizes

Scammers have come up with a new way to deceive Russians. They pretend to be employees of large IT companies and lure people to participate in testing beta versions of various services, said Andrey Biichuk, product director of MTS Defender.

Attackers call a potential victim, posing as testers or employees of a large IT company, bank or platform, allegedly conducting a closed test of a new system. They may talk about a beta version of an application to improve financial security, an improved transfer system, a new level of data protection, and so on.

The victim is told that they were among the test participants completely by accident. As a reward for participation and feedback, scammers promise various bonuses, cash prizes and valuable gifts.

After that, according to the specialist, the registration process begins. You need to fill out a form, indicating your name and contact phone number. Then the attackers request confidential information: passport data, bank card number, as well as logins and passwords received in the form of SMS messages. They explain this by the need to verify identity or ensure security for access to the test system, as he explained.

In the final stage, the organizers may again mention prizes and ask you to follow the link to access the participant's personal account. However, this link leads to a phishing site where the user risks losing money from their account or providing remote access to important online services.

Earlier it became known that attackers can also pose as financial intelligence officers and ask to transfer money to a special account.
