The Nizhny Novgorod enterprise "Hydromash" named after V.I. Luzyanin recovered $2.2 million from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for parts for military aircraft produced by UAC.
The company's claim was supported by the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region on May 16. The amount of the recovery is almost half of the $4.6 million contract concluded between UAC and JSC "Hydromash" named after V.I. Luzyanin" in 2021.
"Hydromash" was to manufacture dampers-lifts, landing hook rods, and damper-stabilizers for aircraft manufacturers, a total of more than 30 units of components within eight months after the conclusion of the contract, until June 2022 inclusive. All parts, brake system components, and hydraulic units are components for fighters.
The customer made an advance payment of 40% of the contract price, and the delay in deliveries became the basis for suspending subsequent payments. For example, 12 landing hook rods were delivered only in September 2024, and UAC has not yet paid for them, citing the need for full delivery of the entire range of goods according to the specification.
However, the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region sided with "Hydromash" and noted that even partial delivery of the ordered products does not release UAC from the obligation to pay the entire contract amount, because there is no corresponding condition in the contract.
UAC enterprises manufacture modern Su-57, Su-35S, and Su-34 fighters.
