The automatic control system (ACS) for PD-8 aircraft engines was developed and is manufactured by the Perm enterprise "UEC-STAR". This was reported by the press service of the United Engine Corporation (UEC).
The ACS not only controls the start-up and operating modes of the engine, but also monitors its key parameters. For this purpose, special restrictions are set – there are more than 500 of them. Among them are air pressure behind the compressor and maximum permissible engine rotor speeds, as well as the maximum gas temperature behind the turbine.
Ivan Nemchaninov, a design engineer from the leading design department of "UEC-STAR", accompanies the ACS-8 units during the testing of the PD-8 engine as part of the aircraft and is responsible for entering adjustments and restrictions.
Our enterprise has completed a tremendous amount of work in the shortest possible time to create the PD-8 engine control system. I install software developed at our enterprise into the electronic regulator and engine protection unit. I also carry out the setup and adjustment of the ACS. By adjusting the parameter values, we check the operation of all engine control algorithms.
On Wednesday, April 23, a new prototype of the Superjet aircraft, equipped with domestic PD-8 engines, made its first flight. UEC stated that the power plant fully confirmed aerodynamic stability.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the import-substituted Superjet SJ-100 with PD-8 will perform more than 130 certification flights.
