India has developed its own guided glide bomb with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK) for the Indian Su-30MKI. Test footage has appeared on social networks.
The system was developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The creators successfully conducted full-scale tests of the long-range "Gaurav" glide bomb from April 8 to 10 from the suspension units of an experimental Su-30MKI.
During the tests, the weapon was integrated onto several suspension units with various warhead configurations. A range of 100 km was demonstrated.
The Su-30MKI multirole fighter in India is produced under a Russian license by the state corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. It forms the basis of the Indian front-line aviation.
Su-30MKI Characteristics:
- Maximum speed at high altitude — 2125 km/h
- Maximum flight altitude — 17.3 thousand m
- Thrust-to-weight ratio — 1.0
Earlier www1.ru reported that 8.4 trillion rubles will be allocated for the development of the Navy until 2035.
