Aerospace company "Bureau 1440" (part of "Iks Holding") has begun developing WiFi terminals for Sukhoi Superjet (SJ-100) aircraft, MC-21 and Tu-214. This was announced by Alexey Shelobkov, General Director of Iks Holding.
The terminals will provide connection to satellite internet throughout the flight.
Shelobkov noted that the company received requirements for transceiving terminals from the manufacturer of these three aircraft.
A representative of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) confirmed that the company is in contact with Bureau 1440.
We have sent our requirements for the equipment that will be installed on board, in order to be able to offer interested airlines the functionality of accessing the Internet on board the aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that UAC revealed the purpose of the flap track fairings on Russian aircraft.
