The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant (KNAAZ) named after Yuri Gagarin has been assigned the production of 16 fuselage section skins for the MC-21 passenger aircraft, which were previously manufactured in Ulyanovsk at the Aviastar enterprise. This was reported by the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
Leonid Tolcheev, Deputy Chief Technologist, noted that the complexity of mastering the production of large-sized fuselage skins is associated with their uniqueness.
As a rule, this work is of a one-time nature and is repeated only when mastering new products. For example, similar work was carried out on the "Superjet" more than eight years ago.
According to him, the quality requirements for the skins are very high. It is necessary to strictly observe the permissible deformation norms.
In a serial production environment, compliance with these requirements can only be ensured by sheathing according to a control program, the development of which is a very complex process.
It can take up to three months, followed by testing and adjustment. And we needed 16 such programs.
KNAAZ also produces Su-35S fighters and fifth-generation Su-57 multi-functional front-line aviation complexes.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will build 200 aircraft by 2030: there are guaranteed buyers with money.
