A Mi-8MTV helicopter of Gazpromavia airline made a hard landing in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The aircraft was performing a control flight in the area of the Sovetsky airfield of the city of the same name in the region, the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.
During the control hover, the aircraft commander reported an engine failure.
The aircraft made a hard landing, there were no casualties, and the helicopter's landing gear was damaged. The Investigative Committee organized a procedural check into the aviation incident.

Mi-8 is a Soviet multi-purpose helicopter developed at OKB-329 under the leadership of designer Mikhail Mil. It is the most massive twin-engine helicopter in the world. The helicopter was put into operation in 1965.
