Казанский авиазавод выпустит 23 самолета Ту-214

90 Billion Rubles to Be Spent on Modernizing the Enterprise

The Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) has signed contracts for the supply of 23 Tu-214 passenger aircraft, according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, Oleg Korobchenko.

According to him, KAZ is actively expanding production for import substitution. A total of 90 billion rubles will be spent on modernization.

According to the government's mandate, KAZ must produce four Tu-214s by 2025. The buyers will be the airlines "IrAero", S7 Airlines, and "Yakutia."

Previously, KAZ aimed to build dozens of Tu-214s by 2030, planning to construct up to 20 aircraft annually. However, as Oleg Korobchenko clarified, the plant will only be able to produce two such aircraft in 2025. KAZ is also facing a shortage of labor resources, with approximately 2,500 workers needed.

The Tu-214 aircraft was manufactured in Kazan in 2006 and sent for storage in 2015. In June 2024, after restoring its airworthiness, the aircraft made its first flight and then went to Minsk for repainting. After returning to Kazan, it was modernized, replacing imported components with Russian analogues.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the certification of the Il-114 turboprop aircraft is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
