The "Tyazhmash" plant will undertake the design, manufacture, and supply of 16 sliding support bearings for the propulsion electric motor of the newest nuclear icebreaker of the "Leader" project. The new contract is a continuation of the dialogue with one of the specialized divisions of the "Ruselprom" electromechanical engineering concern.
In the new project, Syzran machine builders will independently complete the entire production cycle: from basic engineering to the complete supply of finished units.
In addition to the main steel parts of the structure, components for lubrication, temperature control, and shaft working parameter monitoring systems will be supplied. Furthermore, duplication of indicators will be ensured, with the possibility of displaying them on a digital control panel.
The construction of the vessel named "Россия" has been underway at the "Zvezda" shipyard since 2020. It will be equipped with a 120-megawatt power plant and will become the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world.
