Specialists of the "Yakovlev" production center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur have begun ground testing of PD-8 engines. This was reported by the company's press service.
The power plant was mounted on the prototype aircraft 95157 in its serial form with imported systems, and it will be the first to take to the air with the PD-8.
In the future, another SSJ-100, equipped with Russian systems and units, will join the flight tests. Thus, the number of aircraft involved in certification tests under the import substitution program will reach three units.
In the work on the power plant, engineers used the experience of creating a more powerful PD-14 engine. To speed up the certification of the PD-8, the results of computer modeling were used.
The PD-8 will be used on the import-substituted passenger aircraft SSJ-NEW and on the Be-200 amphibious aircraft.
