Ростех передал первые двигатели ПД-8 для испытаний самолётов SJ-100

Летные тесты начнутся после завершения наземных отработок

The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) has delivered the first PD-8 engines for installation on the short-haul SJ-100 aircraft. After the completion of ground tests, flight tests of the power plants will begin as part of the aircraft.

The PD-8 two-spool turbofan engine was developed using the latest domestic materials and advanced technologies. In developing the power plant, UEC used the experience of creating the more powerful PD-14. To accelerate certification, PD-8 used computer modeling results.

Rostec enterprises are rapidly completing the import substitution program for the main systems and components of the SJ-100 aircraft. The PD-8 engines have been delivered to our aircraft manufacturers in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, who, together with representatives of UEC, will carry out finishing work directly at the factory and prepare the aircraft for its first flight with domestic power plants. Our goal is to start flight tests and certification of a completely domestic aircraft as soon as possible.
Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec

In the future, the characteristics of the PD-8 will also allow it to be used on the Be-200 amphibious aircraft. Also, UEC specialists are working on creating a domestic power plant based on the PD-8 for heavy transport helicopters.
