New PD-8 engine assembly center for SJ-100 to appear in Russia

A specialization center for assembling doors and hatches for SJ-100 aircraft was previously created in Komsomolsk-on-Amur

A new logistics center with an engine assembly section for SJ-100 aircraft will be built in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. This was announced by the head of the Khabarovsk Territory, Dmitry Demeshin.

PJSC "Yakovlev" plans to build a logistics center with an area of about 10 thousand square meters in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. This will be a warehouse complex with an assembly section for engines of SJ-100 aircraft.

The first specialization center in Russia for the assembly of doors and hatches for MC-21, SJ-100, Il-114, Tu-214 civil aircraft has already been created in the city. The governor added that "Yakovlev" intends to increase the production of aircraft, therefore it is expanding its production base.

The PD-8 two-circuit turbofan engine was created at the UEC-Saturn enterprise using the latest domestic materials and advanced technologies, including 3D printing. The experience of creating a more powerful PD-14 engine was used in the work on the power plant. To speed up certification, PD-8 used the results of computer modeling.
