«Черная пятница»: продавцы маркетплейсов пожаловались в ФАС из-за автоматических акций

Businessmen believe that the policy of marketplaces violates the law on competition

Marketplace sellers have expressed dissatisfaction with automatic promotions, which, in their opinion, limit their ability to promote goods if they refuse to participate in such campaigns.

They appealed to the FAS through the International Association for the Development of Marketplaces (IADM), stating that the priority ranking of goods with low prices violates the law on competition. This forces small sellers to dump prices, which leads to their bankruptcy and market consolidation in favor of large players.

The IADM fears that this practice may lead to monopolization and proposes to legislatively limit the intervention of marketplaces in pricing. Experts confirm the problem, pointing to the increase in costs and the decrease in the number of new sellers, but note that the FAS more often considers cases of overpricing, and not lowering prices. However, mass complaints may force the regulator to pay attention to this situation.

Marketplaces, including Wildberries, Ozon, and "Yandex Market", declined to comment on the situation. Industry representatives, on the contrary, consider promotions an incentive for sales growth. Against the background of the general consolidation of the market, online trading in Russia continues to grow: its turnover in January-September 2024 amounted to 6.2 trillion rubles, although the growth rate of the number of sellers has slowed down.
