The forecast for a decrease in Russia's exports of Russian weapons and military equipment in 2024 was announced by Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec, during the plenary session of the IX International Forum of the Financial University.
According to him, in 2021, exports amounted to about $15 billion, in 2022 they decreased to about $7 billion, in 2023 — amounted to about $6 billion, and in 2024 — will be even lower.
[...] But this is primarily due to the fact that we must meet our own needs internally, the needs of our army, and only then export abroad.
Chemezov believes that in the future, Russia will return to its previous volumes of exports of weapons and military equipment and will only increase them.
In any case, our export volumes will grow, I hope they will continue, because today there is a large deferred demand. Rosoboronexport's portfolio of orders and signed contracts amounts to about 55 billion. And our partners who purchase our equipment see it clearly, not just in booklets and videos, but in real action. Therefore, the need for our equipment remains high.
Earlier it became known that Russia intends to focus on the supply of the Su-57 multi-functional fighter to North African countries.
