The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that he does not rule out the possibility of indexing prices for Lada cars in 2025. This may be due to an increase in the key rate and a weakening of the ruble exchange rate.
Now, as an industrial enterprise, we can say with absolute certainty that, of course, the interest rate, which is based on the key rate, is the basis for the growth of the cost of production. This is the first factor that will affect the indexation, and possibly even the increase in prices next year.
The second factor is the continued growth of the dollar against the ruble.
Sokolov noted that since November 2023, the cost of Lada cars has increased by 4.3%. According to him, for more than a year there has been a tendency to reduce the rate of price growth, which does not correspond to the level of inflation. If suppliers of components constantly raised prices for their products, then the company would have to increase the cost of cars.
In 2024, AvtoVAZ plans to produce more than 520 thousand cars. This figure will be the best in the last 15 years for the company. In addition, over the next six years, AvtoVAZ plans to increase car production to 700 thousand or more per year.
