Представлена битопливная LADA Vesta CNG с новой системой заправки газа

Scientists from the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences participated in the development of cylinders for the car

At the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, a car model based on the serial LADA Vesta CNG was presented, which can run on both gasoline and compressed natural gas. The economical bi-fuel car for the PMGF received new gas cylinder equipment from the ATS Group, and its cylinders were developed by scientists from the St. Petersburg IPCE RAS.

According to the Avtobroker Klub automotive magazine, citing specialists from the ATS Group, the technologies for developing and producing such a car are not new: they work successfully in the production of trucks and serial passenger car models. For example, ATS Group produces gasoline-methane serial LADA Vesta and LADA Granta, plus LADA Granta for driving schools, which include and install all systems to assist the cadet, systems to control the exam and CNG equipment. There is also a serial model LADA Vesta CNG. But the car presented at the PMGF has significant differences from all these models.

Thanks to the developments of the IPCE RAS, the model based on LADA Vesta CNG received new small-volume natural gas cylinders, which leave more space in the trunk. Also, these cylinders use adsorbers, which allows maintaining the volume of gas being filled while reducing the pressure level. This makes the trip safer in the event of a possible cylinder rupture.
