Russia is planning to abolish the yellow color in taxis. This idea has already been discussed in the State Duma, and if the initiative is approved, it will only affect self-employed drivers.
The requirements for the color of taxi cars will be abolished for them. This means that it can be any color, but the requirements for the presence of a taxi light on the roof and checkers on the body will remain.
It is believed that taxis were repainted yellow to make them more visible from a distance. It was also done to ensure that all cars had the same appearance and passengers could distinguish legal taxis from illegal ones.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Yandex launched a new taxi ordering service under the "Vezet" brand. A trip in it is on average 20% cheaper than the "Economy" tariff in Yandex Taxi, but the waiting time may be longer.
