The State Corporation "Rosatom" has sent new equipment to the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant. It will be used to modernize the safety system of the first unit, the corporation's press service reported.
This refers to equipment for an automated process control system (APCS), developed by "Rosatom Automated Control Systems". This includes 20 cabinets and 40 detectors that transmit data about the technological process to upper-level systems, as well as to the unit and backup control rooms.
According to the chief engineer of the nuclear facility, Andrey Gorbunov, the equipment upgrade began in 2023. This year, about 4.5 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes. The work is expected to be carried out as part of a scheduled repair, which is scheduled for October.
The Rostov Nuclear Power Plant is located near the Tsimlyansk Reservoir. The facility was commissioned in 2001. The electrical capacity of the four operating power units is 4071 MW.
