The Nizhny Novgorod enterprise Krasnoye Sormovo (part of USC) continues the construction of the lead cruise ship of Project 00840 Karelia. The ship's readiness is more than 56%, the corporation's press service reported.
Hull work is being completed on the ship, electrical equipment is being installed and pipes are being laid. Equipment is also being loaded and passenger areas are being equipped.
It is expected that the Project 00840 Karelia liners will be equipped with the latest domestic equipment for the crew area. Modular sanitary units, linings, floating floors, metal furniture, as well as composite doors will be supplied by Morsvyazavtomatika.
Etalon is the glazing supplier, Termal will supply heaters, and Sudosvet and Elkom will supply power distribution boards. According to Stanislav Kruglyashov, General Director of the Krasnoye Sormovo plant, these liners will be an example of the successful application of Russian technologies.
The Karelia cruise ship will begin navigation in 2025. It can travel on shallow rivers.
